Maybe you will think it unusual to see pilates here!  What has pilates got to do with career counselling?  Well, the answer is easy.

Work takes up about a third of your life, so how do you make sure you are always productive and efficient (not to mention feeling healthy and keeping in touch with your body): physical health is a vital part of life balance.  Have you heard about the RED lifestyle? R is for relaxation, E is for exercise and D is for diet.

I have recently trained to be a Pilates teacher (Level 3 Matwork) with The Pilates Institute, London.

Pilates has been a part of my life for several years, since I discovered the benefits which include maintaining fitness, having the best possible posture, and avoiding the lower back pain that was plaguing me for years!

Why Pilates?

Joseph Pilates developed an exercise system in the First World War for interned soldiers, to build them up and strengthen their core muscles.  Later, he took his ideas to New York and worked with injured ballet dancers to help them regain their suppleness and all-round fitness.

Today, Pilates is well-known worldwide as an excellent way to gain and maintain optimum muscular fitness.  It suits all ages and levels of ability. Look at how a small child stands, sits and moves -our bodies forget what nature intended us to do because we are too busy, driving, sitting hunched over desks and rushing about without thinking about our posture.

Now is the time to redress the balance!  Pilates uses a focused and precise method of exercising for controlling movement so as to strengthen core muscles, improve posture and allow flexibility.
It's also incredibly relaxing.

I offer private classes and am opening a number of group classes, so let me know if you are interested on the Contact page.
